TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 31,2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai expressed confidence that an atmosphere of peace and tranquility would soon be established in the Bastar division, highlighting the significant strides made in the battle against Naxalism.
“Our policy is clear – answer words with words and answer bullets with bullets,” CM Sai stated, emphasizing the government’s firm stance against Naxal violence while extending support to those willing to surrender. He assured that the government is committed to providing better life opportunities and rehabilitation facilities for Naxalites willing to leave violence behind and reintegrate into society.
The Chief Minister congratulated the security forces for their ongoing success in securing the surrender of Naxalites in the region. “Today, seven Maoists surrendered in Kanker district, for whom a reward of Rs 32 lakh had been announced. Earlier, 27 Naxalites from Narayanpur and nine from Sukma districts, with a combined reward of Rs 52 lakh, also surrendered,” he said.
A Rising Tide of Surrenders
This steady stream of surrenders is a direct result of the government’s strategic and effective surrender policy and its ongoing anti-Naxal campaigns. According to the Chief Minister, 941 Naxalites have surrendered so far, while 1,112 have been arrested, and 265 have been neutralized in encounters with security forces. He added that many Naxalites are choosing to surrender due to the disillusionment with Naxal ideology and the hope of a better future.
CM Sai revealed that during his visits to Bastar, he frequently meets with surrendered Naxalites, noting that they are leading better lives after abandoning their former ideology. “These former Naxalites are happier and more content with their new lives,” he said.
Government’s Focus on Development
The state government is focusing on building infrastructure and providing basic amenities in Naxal-affected areas through various government schemes. This includes the approval of 15,000 Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojanas for surrendered Naxalites and families from affected regions.
CM Sai concluded by stating that the Maoist terror will soon be eradicated, and Bastar will soon witness lasting peace and stability. “The end of Maoism is within sight, and an era of peace will begin,” he assured.
