TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 15, 2025: The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission (CGSEC) has officially declared the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) ineffective for the municipalities involved in the 2025 general and by-elections, following the completion of vote counting on 15 February 2025.
In a notice issued today, the Commission confirmed that the MCC, which had been in place for the elections of various municipal bodies—including Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils, and Nagar Panchayats—would no longer apply for the constituencies listed in the attached appendices. This includes both the general elections and by-elections for Mayor, Chairman, and Councillor positions.
The order, referenced from CGSEC’s earlier directive dated 20 January 2025, marks the conclusion of the electoral process for these constituencies. The MCC restrictions are lifted following the successful conclusion of the vote tallying.
This announcement provides clarity for all local election officers, marking the end of the period of enforced conduct guidelines for the concerned constituencies.
