TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 17, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to uninterrupted power supply, rapid electrification of remote regions, and the expansion of renewable energy.

Chairing a high-level Energy Department review meeting at Mahanadi Bhavan, CM Sai highlighted the integration of solar energy, cutting-edge technologies, and strategic power management to enhance efficiency and consumer convenience.

“Chhattisgarh is advancing toward energy self-sufficiency by expanding solar infrastructure and modernizing power distribution. Our goal is to ensure reliable electricity access for every household, especially in Naxal-affected and remote areas,” CM Sai stated.

Electrification Gains Momentum in Conflict Zones

CM Sai praised the success of the Niyad Nellanar Scheme, which has significantly advanced electrification in Naxal-affected villages. He described the initiative as a crucial step toward bridging the rural-urban development gap.

“Electrification is not just about power access; it is a catalyst for socio-economic transformation. It enhances education, healthcare, business opportunities, and empowers communities,” he said.

The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the electrification of all remaining unelectrified villages, integrating them into the mainstream economy.

Consumer Relief: Easier Bill Payments and Digital Push

Addressing financial difficulties faced by consumers, CM Sai announced special relief measures for overdue electricity bill payments.

To streamline payments, he instructed authorities to expand digital payment services, including mobile alerts and secure online payment links, ensuring effortless transactions for all users.

Strengthening Power Infrastructure Through Innovation

Emphasizing the need for modernization, CM Sai called for smart energy management solutions to improve power quality and efficiency. He urged officials to reduce transmission and distribution (T&D) losses through advanced monitoring systems and eliminate technical inefficiencies.

The government also plans to scale up policy support for renewable energy adoption, aligning with national and global sustainability goals.

Expanding Solar Energy for a Greener Future

Underlining solar energy’s role in Chhattisgarh’s long-term sustainability, CM Sai directed officials to accelerate its adoption across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. He also called for incentive-based policies to attract investment in clean energy solutions.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary Subodh Singh, senior officials from the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited, and key representatives from the Energy Department.
