TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 27, 2025: The grand closing ceremony of Rajim Kumbh Kalp 2025, held today, reaffirmed its position as a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s commitment to spiritual, cultural, and social harmony. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, addressing the event in Rajim, emphasized the festival’s importance, not only as a religious gathering but as a monumental celebration of the state’s rich heritage.
Rajim Kumbh Kalp: A Festival of Unity and Devotion
CM Sai, referring to Rajim as the “Prayagraj of Chhattisgarh,” underscored the significance of the event, which brings together thousands of devotees from across the state. “From Magh Purnima to Mahashivratri, thousands gather at the Triveni Sangam to take a holy dip, seeking blessings from revered saints. This festival encapsulates the soul of our state, promoting unity, devotion, and pride,” he stated.
Reviving the Grandeur of Rajim Kumbh Kalp
CM Sai highlighted the festival’s revival after it faced disruptions in recent years. “Rajim Kumbh Kalp was first initiated in 2005 and, since then, has gained immense support. However, due to various challenges, its full potential wasn’t realized. In 2023, the people of Chhattisgarh placed their trust in us again, allowing the festival to return to its former grandeur,” he announced. With an expansion to 54 acres and enhanced infrastructure, the festival now accommodates a larger, more inclusive gathering of devotees.
Strengthening Pilgrimages with Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana
CM Sai also addressed the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana, a government initiative facilitating pilgrimages to Ayodhya Dham and Kashi Vishwanath. “Over 20,000 devotees from Chhattisgarh have benefited from this initiative, allowing them to witness the historic consecration of Shri Ramlala in Ayodhya,” he said, emphasizing its spiritual significance for the nation.
Commitment to Agricultural Growth and Farmers
Turning his attention to agriculture, CM Sai proudly announced Chhattisgarh’s record-breaking paddy procurement. “This year, we surpassed last year’s total of 145 lakh metric tons, procuring 149 lakh metric tons. Our promise to buy paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal and ensure direct payments to farmers within a week has been fulfilled,” he stated, reflecting the government’s commitment to empowering the state’s farming community.
Chhattisgarh Expands its Religious Presence at National Level
Drawing inspiration from the Prayagraj Mahakumbh, where over 70 crore devotees participated, CM Sai expressed his vision to elevate Rajim Kumbh Kalp to national prominence. “Chhattisgarh has secured 4.5 acres of land in Prayagraj, where we have set up a dedicated pavilion to serve over 25,000 devotees from the state. This initiative strengthens Chhattisgarh’s religious and cultural footprint on a national level,” he said.
Preserving Cultural Traditions and Folk Arts
CM Sai also lauded the role of folk artists and cultural performers, whose vibrant displays enhanced the festival’s atmosphere. “Rajim Kumbh Kalp is not just about faith, but about preserving our cultural and artistic traditions. We will continue to support such festivals, ensuring better infrastructure and accessibility for devotees in the coming years,” he added.
A Call to Preserve Sacred Rivers and Water Bodies
During the ceremony, Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel emphasized the importance of preserving the cultural heritage of Rajim Kumbh, while Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap called for collective efforts to protect the sacred rivers and water bodies that are central to the event. The closing ceremony was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Kurud MLA Ajay Chandrakar, Rajim MLA Rohit Sahu, Basna MLA Sampat Agarwal, and Abhanpur MLA Indra Kumar Sahu, along with Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahu, Raipur Divisional Commissioner Mahadev Kavre, and Chhattisgarh Tourism MD Vivek Acharya. Eminent saints, religious leaders, and thousands of devotees were also present to witness the grand finale of this sacred celebration.
