Newly Elected Mayor and Councilors Take Oath in Jagdalpur, Deputy CM Calls for Dedicated City Development

TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 1, 2025 – Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Shri Arun Saw called upon the newly elected Mayor and councilors of Jagdalpur to work with commitment and vision to transform the city into a cleaner, more beautiful, and comfortable place. He made the remarks while attending their oath-taking ceremony held today at the Maa Danteshwari Temple premises in Jagdalpur.

The ceremony, presided over by Deputy CM Saw, was attended by Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap, and MLAs Shri Kiran Dev, Vinayak Goyal, Neelkanth Tikam, and Chaitram Atami. Bastar Collector Shri Harish S. administered the oath to newly elected Mayor Shri Sanjay Pandey and all councilors.

Government’s Commitment to Jagdalpur’s Development

Congratulating the newly elected representatives, Shri Saw expressed confidence that they would uphold the promises made in the Atal Vishwas Patra and work with determination to enhance the city’s infrastructure and livability. He assured full support from the state government to ensure Jagdalpur’s progress.

Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap highlighted the extensive urban development initiatives undertaken in the past 15 months, stating that over ₹7,500 crore has been invested in municipal projects across the state. In Jagdalpur alone, infrastructure projects worth ₹82 crore are underway. He emphasized that future development plans would be formulated with a 50-year vision to ensure the city’s long-term growth.

MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap and MLA Shri Kiran Dev also addressed the gathering, pledging every possible effort for the city’s all-round development. The event was attended by numerous public representatives, dignitaries, and citizens, including Shri Kamalchandra Bhanjdev of the Bastar royal family.
