TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 6, 2025: In a major relief for government employees, the Chhattisgarh government has fulfilled its promise of increasing the dearness allowance (DA) to 53%, just ahead of the Holi festival. An official order regarding the hike has been issued by the Finance Department.
The announcement was first made by Cabinet Minister Shri OP Choudhary during the presentation of the state’s annual budget for 2025-26 in the Assembly on March 3. Following up on this commitment, the government has now formally approved the increase.
As per the order, employees receiving salaries under the seventh pay scale will see a 3% hike in DA, bringing it to 53%. Meanwhile, those under the sixth pay scale will receive a 7% increase, taking their DA to 246%. The revised DA will be effective from March 1, 2025, and employees will receive the increased amount with their April salary.
This move is expected to benefit lakhs of government employees across the state, providing financial relief amid rising inflation.
