The government has also allocated funds for several key river-linking projects aimed at enhancing the state’s water management infrastructure.
Empowering Local Farmers: Financial Support and Cooperative Strengthening
The budget also emphasizes rural financial inclusion, with provisions such as Rs 342 crore for the Cooperative Department to improve agricultural loans and enhance the infrastructure of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). A target has been set to form 500 new PACS, which will help boost the state’s agricultural output and strengthen local economies. Additionally, Rs 63 crore will be invested in digitizing PACS to improve transparency and efficiency.
Skill Development for Youth in Naxal-Affected Areas
The state’s Skill Development sector is set to receive a significant boost, with Rs 29 crore allocated to various skill training initiatives, particularly for youth in the Naxal-affected Bastar region. A comprehensive survey of 3,598 youths has already been conducted to connect them with livelihood opportunities, ensuring their social and economic integration.
