
TFP Bureau, Ambikapur; March 8, 2025: On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2025, the Adani Foundation organized a special Mahila Samman Samaroh at the Salhi village playground in Udaipur, Surguja district, Rajasthan. The event, held under the theme “Accelerate Action,” recognized and celebrated the strength and achievements of women from across Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
The ceremony saw the participation of more than 500 women from districts such as Surguja, Surajpur, Korba, Bilaspur, and Raipur. Shri Rajesh Agarwal, the local MLA, was the chief guest and presided over the event. During the program, engaging childhood games like filling the bucket with balls, luck games, and bottle drop games were organized, sparking excitement among the women and evoking fond memories of their youth.
Women Empowerment Through Self-Help Groups and Entrepreneurship
One of the highlights of the event was the display of products from various self-help groups, which included items such as costume jewelry, mushroom products, mixed namkeens, bee wax, foot cream, handmade garlands, soaps, and more. A total of eight self-help groups participated, showcasing their unique creations and contributing to the spirit of self-reliance.
Additionally, the stall of Mrs. Kavita Dev, an M.Ed. gold medalist and visionary entrepreneur from Raipur, drew considerable attention. Mrs. Dev, a strong advocate of health and nutrition, shared insights into the benefits of millets, which are gaining popularity for their superior nutritional value. Her stall offered various millet-based products and helped educate attendees on their health advantages.
Honoring Women of Impact
During the ceremony, 500 women who have made significant contributions to their respective fields were honored. These women include teachers, doctors, social workers, and self-help group members. The event emphasized the empowerment of women and their growing role in driving societal change.
In his speech, MLA Rajesh Agarwal acknowledged the transformative role of women in today’s world, stating, “Women are no longer weak; they are the backbone of society. It is time to continue pushing for equal rights and to further their growth and empowerment.” He also visited the stalls, interacted with the women, and purchased products to show his support.
Commitment to Women’s Empowerment
The ceremony also marked the continued commitment of Adani Foundation and its partners to support and empower women. Mr. Manoj Kumar Shahi, Chief of the Adani Enterprises Cluster, reiterated the foundation’s focus on self-reliance programs and initiatives to assist women, particularly in project-affected villages. The CSR team is actively working on employment-oriented projects to support women in the region.
