CM Vishnu Dev Sai Releases Coffee Table Book “Soul of the Soil” Celebrating Chhattisgarh’s Cultural Heritage

Effort to Preserve the Rhythm of Life in Chhattisgarh Praised by Chief Minister

TFP Bureau, Raipur, 8 March 2025: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai released the coffee table book “Soul of the Soil: Life’s Rhythms in Chhattisgarh” at the Chhattisgarh Club in Raipur. The book, a collaboration of the IAS, IPS, and IFS Officers’ Wives Association, showcases the cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh and aims to preserve the rich traditions of the region for future generations.

During the release, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of safeguarding the state’s cultural legacy, highlighting the value of preserving art, literature, folk music, and dance. He described Soul of the Soil as a beautiful effort to capture the rhythm of life in Chhattisgarh and praised it for being a useful resource for both the current and future generations.

“By preserving our cultural heritage, not only will we educate the present generation, but we will also instill a sense of pride in future generations,” said Chief Minister Sai. He further acknowledged that Chhattisgarh’s fertile soil has not only brought prosperity to farmers but has been a source of prosperity for all sections of society. He also recalled the region’s spiritual significance, mentioning historical figures such as Baba Guru Ghasidas, Veer Narayan Singh, and the legacy of Mother Kaushalya.

The Chief Minister expressed his belief that the book would successfully contribute to a deeper understanding of Chhattisgarh’s culture. During the event, he listened to poems compiled in the coffee table book, enriching the occasion with cultural expressions.

Women’s Day Celebration and Tribute to Cultural Preservation
Retired IAS officer Dr. Indira Mishra, who contributed to the project, shared her experience, noting that the collaboration of women from all three associations was instrumental in creating the 200-page book, which commemorates the essence of Chhattisgarh’s traditions. Dr. Mishra, reflecting on her administrative journey, praised the collective effort involved in the book’s creation.

The event also featured a Chhattisgarhi poem recital by Mrs. Jahnvi Pandey, adding a local touch to the cultural celebration. Mrs. Ritu Amitabh Jain, President of the IAS Officers Wives Association, delivered the welcome address, while other dignitaries present included Mrs. Jyoti Gautam, President of the IPS Officers Wives Association, and Mrs. Jyoti Sahu, President of the IFS Officers Wives Association.

The book’s release not only commemorated the achievements of women but also underscored the critical need to protect and cherish Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural heritage.
