Adani Foundation Plans an Array of Events for World Breastfeeding Week
TFP Bureau Raipur; July 31, 2023: In anticipation of World Breastfeeding Week in August, the Adani Foundation is gearing up to host an extensive Breastfeeding Week celebration in five villages within the Tilda development block of the district. As part of a collaborative effort with Adani Power Limited, the foundation is all set to organize various awareness programs, with a particular focus on promoting breastfeeding, in nearby villages including Raikheda, Bhatapara, Gaitra, Chicholi, and Gaurkheda from August 1st to 7th.
The core of these programs will be orchestrated by the Suposhan Sanginis, who are an integral part of the Adani Wilmar Suposhan program, overseen by Adani Foundation. The planned initiatives encompass a wide range of activities such as health check-ups for pregnant women, new mothers, adolescent girls, and children aged zero to five years. Alongside these, there will be identification and counseling sessions for children experiencing moderate and severe malnourishment through the utilization of anthropometric measurements.
In addition to health-oriented initiatives, the program will also promote nutritional food and raise awareness about breastfeeding through rallies and community engagement. Seeds will be distributed to the beneficiaries to foster vegetable cultivation in their Kitchen Gardens and Poshan Vatika, a dedicated garden for nurturing essential food crops.
Moreover, the event aims to educate local residents about various nutritious vegetables available in the region and provide insights on how to enhance the nutritional value and taste of Shri Anna grains (Millet). This valuable information will be shared with households during group discussions and family counseling sessions.
Outstanding participants in diverse activities such as poster competitions, quiz competitions, wall writing, cooking demonstrations, group discussions, and family counseling will receive due recognition and rewards as a gesture of appreciation for their exceptional contributions.
The primary objective of this ambitious undertaking is to create widespread awareness about the vital significance and numerous benefits of breastfeeding within all sections of society. By encouraging a supportive environment for breastfeeding, Adani Foundation aims to make a positive impact on the overall health and well-being of the community, especially the mothers and children.
