BALCO Football Championship Scores Big with Environmental Commitment
10 trees to be planted for every goal scored
TFP Bureau Korba, August 19, 2023: Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO), a prominent player in India’s aluminium sector and a subsidiary of Vedanta Aluminium, recently wrapped up its much-anticipated Football Championship, bringing an innovative environmental pledge to the forefront. As part of this initiative, BALCO has promised to plant ten trees for every goal scored during the championship. The outcome: a total of 750 trees are poised to take root near the company’s operations, underscoring its dedication to sustainability.
The BALCO Football Championship engaged more than 1500 BALCO employees and business partners. Over 25 days, 32 formidable teams vied for supremacy on the field, blending sportsmanship and skill. This contest promoted healthy rivalry and teamwork, nurturing a more productive work environment. Beyond the matches, it furnished an opportunity for participants to revel in the allure of football, often dubbed ‘the beautiful game.’
