Historic Success Marks India’s Leap to Moon’s South Pole

Speaking directly to the elated team post-landing, the Prime Minister lauded the historical achievement, declaring it a victory for the nation.

Addressing the ISRO team as a part of the extended family, Prime Minister Modi asserted that these extraordinary events become the indelible spirit of a nation. He characterized the occasion as an unforgettable juncture, a triumph call for India, highlighting the nation’s resilience and the new-found vigor propelling it forward. In his spirited address, he termed it a moment of invoking India’s ascending fortune and hailed it as a ‘Amrit Varsha’ of success bathed in the dawn of ‘Amrit Kaal’. Though attending the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, the Prime Minister revealed his unwavering focus on Chandrayaan 3, echoing the enthusiasm of every citizen. He conveyed that the celebration had unified the nation in festivity, connecting every individual with the same fervor. Extending his congratulations to Team Chandrayaan, ISRO, and the scientists behind the relentless effort, he also extended his felicitations to the 1.4 billion countrymen, underlining the moment’s emotional resonance.

The Prime Minister emphasized that India, with the dedication and brilliance of its scientists, has achieved a milestone untouched by any other nation. He predicted that the narratives and mythologies related to the Moon would transform, with the proverbs themselves gaining renewed significance for the upcoming generation. Drawing on the popular Indian metaphor of the Moon being referred to as ‘Chanda Mama dur ke’ (the Moon is far away), he envisioned a future where children would exclaim, “Chanda Mama ek tour ke” (Chanda Mama is just a tour away).

Speaking to a global audience, the Prime Minister stated, “India’s successful moon mission is not India’s alone.” He underscored the resonance of India’s ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ approach across the world and noted that the same philosophy underpins India’s moon missions. He emphasized that this victory belongs to humanity and would catalyze lunar exploration by other nations.

Shri Modi confidently projected that the accomplishments of the Chandrayaan Maha Abhiyan (Great Lunar Mission) will propel India’s trajectory beyond lunar orbits. He envisaged pushing the boundaries of our solar system and harnessing the universe’s infinite potential for mankind. With optimism, he revealed ISRO’s upcoming ‘Aditya L-1’ mission to delve into the Sun’s mysteries and the prospect of exploring Venus. Asserting that India repeatedly shatters the notion that the sky is the limit, he spotlighted Mission Gaganyaan—the nation’s imminent foray into human spaceflight.

Highlighting the pivotal role of science and technology in India’s bright future, the Prime Minister envisioned that this achievement would inspire the nation toward greater heights and serve as a compass for fulfilling aspirations.
