The episode was aired on August 27, 2023, discussing a multitude of topics, from Chandrayaan’s triumph to the prowess of India’s youth in sports and the significance of the Sanskrit and Telugu languages.

Prime Minister Modi commenced the episode by extending a warm welcome to listeners and acknowledging the rarity of having two editions of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ within a month, coinciding with the auspicious month of Sawan. He emphasized the significance of Chandrayaan’s successful mission to the moon, enhancing the festive spirit of the month.

Reflecting upon the accomplishments, he shared lines from an old poem:

Raise your head high

To slice the densest of clouds

It’s time to devote ourselves

To the resolve of spreading radiance

Well, the sun has just risen

Treading ahead with a firm resolve,

Crossing every deterrent; nay barrier

To dispel the scourge of utter darkness

Well, the sun has just risen.

And then one realises…

Even the sun has just risen…

Albeit…shining across many a dense cloud

Yet….holding the head sky high!

In an inspiring narrative, Prime Minister Modi lauded the contributions of Indian women in Chandrayaan’s success. Notable women scientists and engineers played crucial roles in the mission, symbolizing the spirit of New India—resilient, victory-oriented, and capable of overcoming obstacles.

He also acknowledged the incredible achievements of India’s athletes in the World University Games, highlighting the exceptional 26 medals won, including 11 gold medals. Kharpran, who made significant contributions to understanding India’s heritage through their passion for history, epigraphy, and cave exploration.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the dairy sector’s advancements, particularly the innovative measures taken by Banas Dairy of Gujarat, such as the Truck-on-Track initiative that has streamlined milk transportation. He underscored the significance of community-driven value addition and diversification in the dairy industry.

The episode concluded with Prime Minister Modi extending Raksha Bandhan wishes and calling for the continuation of the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign during the festive season. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness around holy places and their surroundings.
