BALCO’s Mega Health Camp Provides Healthcare to Nearly 200 Individuals
TFP Bureau, Korba; August 30, 2023: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), a leading aluminium producer in India and a subsidiary of Vedanta Aluminium, successfully conducted a Mega Health Camp in collaboration with Help Age India at Bhatgaon Village. This initiative, which is part of BALCO’s Arogya Project, aimed to offer specialized healthcare services and improve the overall well-being of the community. The event garnered an outstanding response with nearly 200 individuals seeking medical assistance.
The Mega Health Camp boasted a diverse array of specialized consultations, featuring medical experts in fields such as ENT, dentistry, pediatrics, dermatology, gynecology, and physiotherapy. Attendees also benefited from common medical tests, including blood sugar level assessments and hemoglobin tests. These consultations, provided free of charge, not only enabled early detection of health issues but also raised awareness about the importance of timely medical attention.
One of the highlights of the event was the dedicated eye screening sessions, which successfully identified various vision-related problems among participants. Notably, the camp identified 18 cases of cataracts, allowing for swift diagnosis and timely treatment recommendations. The Mega Health Camp’s positive impact extended across 45 communities, benefiting individuals of all age groups, including children, women, men, and the elderly.
Puni Ram Nirmal, a resident of Bhatgaon who attended the Mega Health Camp, expressed gratitude for the comprehensive eye screening. He shared, “The camp’s thorough eye screening helped me realize my cataract condition that needed immediate attention. The medical team not only guided me on the necessary treatment steps but also informed me about affordable healthcare options available through government facilities.”
