Adani Foundation’s August Initiatives Ignite Enthusiasm Across the Region
- World Breastfeeding Week, Sports Day, and Rakshabandhan Celebrations Marked with Zeal
TFP Bureau Raipur, August 31, 2023:In a resolute commitment to corporate social responsibility, Adani Power Limited’s (APL) subsidiary, Adani Foundation, orchestrated a medley of impactful programs throughout the month of August. The Foundation, actively engaged in enhancing education, healthcare, and livelihood prospects in adjacent villages such as Raikheda, Chicholi, Gaitara, Bhatapara, Gaurkheda, and Tarashiv, curated a series of events that left an indelible mark.
Commencing the month, Adani Foundation fervently observed World Breastfeeding Week—an initiative championed by the World Health Organization—aimed at nurturing infant health through breastfeeding. Over the course of August 1st to 7th, a comprehensive elucidation of the benefits of breastfeeding and its role in newborn nutrition was presented to 160 expectant and nursing mothers hailing from diverse villages.
With an unwavering commitment to the well-being of women and girls, Adani Foundation consistently orchestrated free health and medical camps during the month’s final week. On a recent Tuesday, a specialized women’s medical camp extended medical counsel and medicines to 90 women residing in neighboring gram panchayats, namely Raikheda, Gaitara, Chicholi, Gaurkheda, and Bhatapara.
The fervor continued with Adani Foundation’s celebration of Sports Day, culminating in a spirited volleyball championship held within the proximate Khamariya gram panchayat. This celebration marked the occasion of National Sports Day and saw participants of various age groups ardently competing, exemplifying the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
A notable stride towards sports development was Adani Foundation’s dedicated volleyball coaching in Khamariya village, fostering local talent and yielding impressive results. This year, 14 children from the village were selected to represent the state-level volleyball team, affirming the efficacy of the coaching program.
Embracing the patriotic fervor of Independence Day, Adani Power Limited orchestrated an exuberant 77th Independence Day celebration at its plant premises in Raikheda village. Amidst this jubilant affair, the tricolor was hoisted by the plant head, Mr. Gattu Rambhav, accompanied by captivating dance performances by 35 girls from nearby villages, choreographed with the support of Adani Foundation.
Mr. Gattu Rambhav’s address during the ceremony resonated deeply as he paid homage to the nation’s martyrs and underscored the collective responsibility of propelling the country’s progress. He emphasized that unity and concerted efforts would continue to steer the nation’s onward journey.
In the closing days of August, Adani Foundation resonated with the spirit of Rakshabandhan, the festival celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters. Collaborating with local police personnel—the custodians of social security—the Foundation facilitated Rakhi celebrations. Children from Navodaya Vidyalaya Coaching Centre, Tarashiv, a Foundation initiative, tied Rakhis to Mr. Krishna Kumar Deshmukh, Chief of the Kharora Police Station, along with his fellow officers, commending their diligent service. The genuine enthusiasm displayed by the children left a deep impact, earning heartfelt appreciation from Chief Deshmukh, who acknowledged Adani Foundation’s significant role in fostering these interactions.
The comprehensive success of Adani Foundation’s August endeavors was an outcome of the dedicated collaboration between APL, the Foundation’s team, and local representatives—a collective effort that truly echoed the spirit of unity and progress.
