TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 2, 2023:  The Chhattisgarh Government is spearheading innovative initiatives to harness the potential of its youth and enhance the education sector. In a significant development, 2,000 newly recruited teachers will be awarded their appointment letters at the ‘Rajiv Yuva Mitan Sammelan’ on today , September 2, 2023. This event will see the participation of esteemed dignitaries, including Lok Sabha MP Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, and School Education Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, at Mela Ground in Nava Raipur.

This marks a historic moment in Chhattisgarh as it marks the first instance of direct teacher recruitment by the state government since its inception. In March 2019, the School Education Department initiated the recruitment process for 14,580 lecturer teachers and assistant teachers. Recently, 10,834 candidates have been appointed to these advertised positions. Moreover, an ongoing recruitment drive is underway for 12,489 lecturer, teacher, and assistant teacher roles in Bastar and Surguja divisions. Subsequent to the appointment of lecturers, 232 candidates received their appointment letters at the Chief Minister’s residence on August 12, 2023. Additionally, appointment letters are now being issued for 3,449 out of the 5,772 advertised teaching positions. The ‘Rajiv Yuva Mitan Sammelan’ will be a pivotal moment, with 2,000 teachers collectively receiving their appointment letters, marking a historic milestone in the state’s education system.

On another front, Chhattisgarh’s youth are being empowered through the visionary ‘Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs.’ Under the ‘Garhbo Nava Chhattisgarh’ initiative, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has championed youth engagement in transformative endeavors. To facilitate this, the state government has established 13,242 Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs throughout Chhattisgarh, providing platforms for young people to participate in innovative projects. An astonishing 3,32,242 enthusiastic youths from the state have joined these clubs, making Chhattisgarh the first Indian state to mobilize its youth on such a grand scale for creative pursuits.

Inspired by the potential of Chhattisgarh’s youth, the Chief Minister initiated the visionary concept of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs. The term ‘Mitan,’ which translates to ‘friend’ in Chhattisgarh’s language, encapsulates the spirit of companionship and collaboration among club members. Comprising a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 40 members, these clubs symbolize the power of collective enthusiasm. Launched on February 3, 2022, the Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club Scheme represents a groundbreaking effort to harness youth energy for creative endeavors. It not only fosters Chhattisgarh’s culture, environment, and sports but also serves as a means to bring public welfare schemes closer to the people.

The state government is providing an annual grant of Rs. 1 lakh, distributed quarterly at Rs. 25,000 each, empowering youth to organize events and pursue creative initiatives. The state government has allocated Rs. 132 crore to these youth clubs, sparking transformative changes across Chhattisgarh.

One notable success story can be found in Charbhantha, a village in Rajnandgaon district, where Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club members established an information kiosk. This kiosk serves as a vital source of awareness, offering crucial information to the community. Govind Sahu, a club member, emphasized its significance, explaining how they reassure villagers during health crises by informing them about the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojana, which covers treatments up to Rs 25 lakh. Additionally, the club actively educates locals about the importance of clean drinking water sources and encourages pond cleaning. In Rajnandgaon’s Anjora village, club members undertook a remarkable vaccination drive, visiting every household to ensure COVID-19 vaccination coverage. In Chinch village of the Raigarh district, the club spearheaded a massive afforestation campaign. They also monitored school attendance, ensuring that all children attended school. These accomplishments demonstrate the profound impact of the Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs on the state’s communities.

In urban areas, youth clubs are thriving, with a particular focus on cultural engagement. For example, Bhilai hosts debating clubs that organize cultural competitions. Over the past 4.5 years, numerous sports complexes have been constructed, and the Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs play a pivotal role in organizing sports events, contributing significantly to the vibrant cultural and athletic landscape of the region.

These dual initiatives, the Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs and the direct teacher recruitment drive, underscore Chhattisgarh’s commitment to empowering its youth and ensuring quality education for its citizens. The state’s efforts to harness the creative potential of its youth and bolster its education system are setting a remarkable example for the nation.
