Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel Appoints 1318 Teachers and Inaugurates School Renovations on Teacher’s Day
TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 5, 2023: In a momentous celebration of Teacher’s Day, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel of Chhattisgarh bestowed appointment letters upon 1318 newly recruited teachers from the Surguja and Bastar regions. The newly appointed educators, brimming with enthusiasm, received their letters with gratitude and admiration for Chief Minister Baghel, marking a significant day for education in the state.
During this grand event, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel emphasized the paramount importance of schools as temples of learning, asserting that they should not be allowed to deteriorate. In line with this vision, a comprehensive plan was initiated through the Chief Minister’s School Jatan Yojana, with a staggering budget of Rs 2100 crore dedicated to renovating schools across the state. Today, the Chief Minister inaugurated the commencement of construction work for an impressive 7,688 schools and an additional 464 classrooms.
These schools, where the newly appointed teachers will embark on their educational journey, have been transformed into beautiful, well-equipped spaces. Notably, they have been adorned with locally sourced cow dung paint, a testament to Chhattisgarh’s commitment to sustainability.
Addressing the audience, Chief Minister Baghel underscored the government’s unwavering dedication to uplifting Chhattisgarh. He recounted the challenges faced by the state, including the dire financial situation of farmers, insufficient returns for forest produce, inadequate healthcare facilities, and the dilapidated condition of schools in Naxal-affected Bastar.
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the teachers for their remarkable dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic, where they played a pivotal role in facilitating online education. He assured them of a secure future by guaranteeing old-age pensions.
Furthermore, he highlighted the government’s remarkable achievement in taking control of English medium schools, making them highly sought after among the students. The demand for admission in these government-run institutions has surged significantly.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reminisced about Dhanora village in Keshkal and reiterated his commitment to improving schools across the state, echoing his sentiment that these institutions are sacred places of learning and must not be allowed to fall into disrepair.
During the program, Chief Minister Baghel engaged in division-wise discussions with parents through video conferencing, listening to their perspectives and concerns. The parents commended the transformation of their schools and pledged to maintain the improvements. Teachers shared their experiences, highlighting the dramatic enhancements in the condition of their schools.
School Education Minister Ravindra Choubey also addressed the gathering, congratulating the 1300 newly appointed teachers, most of whom hailed from rural areas.
Dr. Alok Shukla, Principal Secretary of the School Education Department, reflected on the remarkable progress made possible by the substantial funds allocated for school maintenance. He noted that the investments were not only improving school infrastructure but also creating a conducive learning environment for both students and teachers.
In attendance at the event were School Education Secretary S. Bharathidasan, DPI Sunil Jain, and other prominent officials.
The occasion marked a significant step toward revitalizing education in Chhattisgarh, as the state government reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality education and empowering its dedicated teaching workforce.
