Chhattisgarh creates a world record: more than 2000 yoga practitioners demonstrated Setubandha Asana in Raipur

TFP Bureau,Raipur; Sep 11, 2023: Chhattisgarh has registered its name in the Golden Book of World Records for the performance of Setubandha Asana by 2000 yoga practitioners on Sunday. Yoga practitioners from all over the state collectively performed the Setubandha Asana for a world record, forming a pattern of the Tricolor, at the Balbir Juneja Indoor Stadium in Budhapara, Raipur.
In his congratulatory message on this achievement, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said, “As long as Chhattisgarh performs yoga, it will remain healthy and free from various diseases”. He said that Setubandha Asana connects the mind and body through a bridge. Dr. Manish Bishnoi, Head of the Golden Book of World Records in Asia, announced the creation of the record and presented a provisional certificate to the Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission.
Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission organised this program with the aim of making people aware of the importance of yoga and motivating them to live a healthy lifestyle. Mr Pradeep Sharma, who attended the program, said that getting its name registered in the Golden Book of World Records by the Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission is a historic achievement. Mr. Gyanesh Sharma said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, prioritizing the health of the people, handed over a crucial responsibility to the Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission. To fulfill this responsibility, the Commission has established about 50 regular free yoga practice centers in the state. Yoga is being promoted from village to village by providing training to yoga practitioners of all divisions.
Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Vikas Upadhyay, while congratulating the Commission, said that Yoga helps in developing both the body and mind. As per the wish of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, free yoga centers have been set up in more than 90 percent of the wards of his constituency. Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak said that all the yoga practitioners should teach yoga to 10 people each. Next year, all records will be set once again in huge numbers. In the group yoga practice event, along with Setubandha Asana, other asanas, pranayama, and meditation were also practiced.
Chairman of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Mr. Kuldeep Juneja, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Mrs. Chitrarekha Sahu, members of Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Mr. Rajesh Nara, Mr. Ravindra Singh, Mr. Ganesh Yogi, Chairman of Sanskrit Vidyamandalam Dr. Suresh Sharma, IG Mr. Ratanlal Dangi, and members of Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, along with a large number of yoga instructors, devotees, and a large number of citizens, were present.
