Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to Lay Foundation Stone for ‘Chhattisgarh Krishi Bhawan’ and Inaugurate ‘Chhattisgarh State Agricultural Marketing HQ’ in Nava Raipur today

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Sep 12, 2023: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is set to mark a significant milestone on September 12 as he performs the bhoomi pujan (foundation stone-laying ceremony) for the ‘Chhattisgarh Krishi Bhawan’ and inaugurates the ‘Chhattisgarh State Agricultural Marketing Market Board Headquarters’ in the vibrant heart of Nava Raipur. These ambitious projects, representing an investment of Rs 49.50 crore for the ‘Chhattisgarh Krishi Bhawan’ in Sector-19 and Rs 40.01 crore for the ‘Chhattisgarh State Farm’ in Sector-24, are poised to revolutionize agricultural development in the state.
The ceremonies will be presided over by Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, Minister of Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare, and Biotechnology. Distinguished guests, including Shri Ravindra Choubey, Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development; Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahria, Minister of Urban Administration and Development; Parliamentary Secretary Shri Chintamani Maharaj; Shri Vikas Upadhyay; Ms. Shakuntala Sahu; and MLA Shri Dhanendra Sahu, will also grace the occasion.
‘Chhattisgarh Krishi Bhawan,’ spanning 3.14 acres in Sector-19, is poised to become the nerve center for all agricultural departments. It will house key departments, including the Directorate of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture and Field Forestry, Watershed Management, Livestock Development, and Fisheries. Additionally, the offices of the Agriculture Minister and Agriculture Production Commissioner will find their place within these walls. This Integrated Agriculture Building promises to foster seamless coordination among the department’s support institutions, expediting agricultural initiatives. Importantly, it will offer a one-stop solution for the issues faced by farmers from across the state. In the future, ‘Krishi Bhawan’ is envisioned to evolve into an ‘Integrated Resource Centre’ dedicated to the growth of the agriculture sector.
The ‘Chhattisgarh State Agricultural Marketing Market Board Headquarters’ has been completed in a record time of 18 months, occupying 1.96 acres in Sector-24 of Nava Raipur. This four-floor edifice, including a basement, has been meticulously designed to cater to the needs of the Chairman, senior officers, and employees of the Mandi Board and Seed Corporation. Equipped with rooms, a presentation hall, a kitchen, dining facilities, a pantry, air conditioning, an elevator, a fire-fighting system, and modern restrooms, this structure underscores the commitment to modernizing and streamlining agricultural marketing practices.
These landmark projects symbolize Chhattisgarh’s dedication to its agricultural sector. With the Chief Minister at the helm, these facilities are poised to propel the state’s agricultural growth to new heights, providing farmers with comprehensive support and expertise. As the bhoomi pujan and inauguration ceremonies take place, Chhattisgarh takes a significant step towards harnessing its agricultural potential for the greater good of the state and its people.
