Chairman Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam Reviews State Planning Commission’s Progress and Releases Scheme Evaluation Report
TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 15, 2023: Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Planning Commission, led a comprehensive review meeting at Yojana Bhawan, Nava Raipur today, aimed at evaluating the Commission’s ongoing projects and initiatives. During the meeting, Dr. Tekam introduced the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) dashboard developed by the Commission to facilitate the continuous monitoring of Sustainable Development Goals in the state. Additionally, he unveiled the evaluation report of several prominent state government schemes, including the Mukhyamantri Haat-Bazar Clinic Yojana, Mukhyamantri Slum Swasthya Sahayta Yojana, Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan, and Godhan Nyaya Yojana.
Addressing officials from the State Planning Commission, Chairman Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam emphasized that the framework and dashboard created by the Commission would prove invaluable to government departments and district administration officials in their pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals. The “SDG State Indicator Framework” has been meticulously designed to assess the state’s progress towards these goals, while a “SDG District Indicator Framework” has been crafted to evaluate district-level progress. A comprehensive progress report based on these indicators was also unveiled during the meeting. Dr. Tekam highlighted that the recommendations outlined in the report would provide vital guidance to relevant departments, ultimately leading to more effective plan implementation.
Chairman Dr. Tekam went on to explain that the “SDG Dashboard” encompasses a year-wise, target-based, and district-specific analysis of the Sustainable Development Goals. This dashboard will empower districts and relevant departments to conduct self-assessments and make expedited progress towards achieving these objectives. Dr. Tekam anticipates that the Commission’s report and dashboard will serve as essential tools for Collectors, Chief Executive Officers of District Panchayats, and Heads of Departments, allowing them to identify developmental constraints and formulate evidence-based strategies. By regularly monitoring their progress through the dashboard, all concerned departments and district officials can effectively oversee various schemes.
These comprehensive reports and dashboards have been developed through collaborative efforts between the State Planning Commission and the relevant departments. Dr. Tekam expressed optimism that all departments and district officials will consistently assess their progress using this framework, ensuring the realization of targets aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. The meeting also featured the participation of Vice Chairman of the State Planning Commission, Mr. Ajay Singh, Member-Secretary Mr. Anoop Kumar Srivastava, and senior Commission officials.
