Importance of Caste Census:
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Rahul Gandhi likened a caste census to an X-ray of India, a tool that would help assess the demographics and socio-economic conditions of various sections of society, including OBCs, tribals, and the general category. He emphasized that with this data, the nation could move forward inclusively, formulating better plans for the growth of all sections of society.
Transforming Housing in Chhattisgarh:
The “Chhattisgarh Grameen Awas NYAY Yojana” is a significant step towards providing housing to the state’s homeless families. MP Rahul Gandhi inaugurated the scheme, and through virtual means, transferred the first installment to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Chief Minister Baghel’s Pledge for Inclusive Housing:
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel recalled the limitations of the housing scheme, initially launched as Indira Awas by Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi in 1985, due to inadequate census data.
