Breaking News: Election Commission Orders Urgent Officer Transfers Ahead of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Elections 2023

TFP Bureau, New Delhi; Oct 11, 2023 : The Election Commission of India has taken swift action, ordering the immediate transfers and postings of key officers in preparation for the upcoming General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Chhattisgarh, 2023.

In a significant move, the Commission has directed the transfer of the following officers:

1. Sh. Taran Prakash Sinha, IAS (SCS, 2012) – Collector, Raigarh

2. Sh. Sanjay Jha, IAS, 2011 – Collector, Bilaspur

3. Sh. Abhishek Mina, IPS, 2010 – SP, Rajnandgaon

4. Sh. Shalab Kumar Sinha, IPS, 2014 – SP, Durg

5. Sh. Uday Kiran, IPS, 2015 – SP, Korba

6. Sh. Abhishek Maheshwari – Addl. SP, Bilaspur

7. Sh. Sanjay Dhruv – Addl SP, Durg

Additionally, the Commission has called for the immediate divestment of all responsibilities held by Sh. Manoj Soni, ITS, 1995 – Special Secretary of Food and Civil Supplies and currently holding additional charges as MD of Markfed and MD of NAN. The authorities are instructed to submit a panel of three suitable officers for his position. It has been emphasized that the officers involved in these transfers should hand over their responsibilities to the respective officers in the rank immediately below them.

Furthermore, these officers will not be assigned any election-related duties until the conclusion of the General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Chhattisgarh in 2023. The Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary has been requested to furnish a panel of three IAS/IPS Officers for each of the positions mentioned, along with their APAR grading for the last five years and Vigilance Clearance to the Commission by 5:00 PM on October 12, 2023.
