16 Nomination Papers Filed for First Phase of Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections on the Third Day

  • Total of 17 Candidates Submit 23 Nomination Papers for First Phase

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Oct 18, 2023: On the third day of nomination filing, a total of 16 nomination papers were submitted by candidates on Tuesday for the first phase of the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections. This phase covers 20 assembly constituencies, and with today’s submissions, the count of candidates contesting in the first phase has reached 17, with a total of 23 nomination papers.

The highest number of nominations, five, were filed in the Kawardha assembly constituency. Mohla-Manpur had three nominations, while two nominations each were filed in Dongargarh and Khairagarh. Single nomination papers were submitted in Antagarh, Kanker, Keshkal, Jagdalpur, and Bijapur constituencies.

The nomination process for the first phase covers 12 constituencies, including Rajnandgaon, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, and Kabirdham districts.It’s important to note that the deadline for filing nomination papers for the first phase is October 20.

The Election Commission will scrutinize the nominations on October 21, and candidates will have the option to withdraw their nominations until October 23. Voting for the first phase of the elections is scheduled for November 7, while the results for both phases will be announced on December 3.

In the first phase, voters in the following constituencies will cast their ballots: Konta, Bijapur, Dantewada, Chitrakot, Jagdalpur, Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Keshkal, Kanker, Bhanupratappur, Antagarh, Mohla-Manpur, Khujji, Dongargaon, Rajnandgaon, Dongargarh, Khairagarh, Kawardha, and Pandariya.
