Nagarnar Plant to Remain Public-Owned, Declares Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Bastar
- Union Home Minister Addresses Public Meeting, Promises to Retain Plant in People’s Hands
TFP Bureau, Jagdalpur; Oct 19, 2023: In a resounding declaration during a public meeting in Jagdalpur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the Nagarnar plant will not be privatized, emphasizing that this plant belongs to the people of Bastar. Amit Shah further noted that the people of Chhattisgarh would celebrate Diwali three times this year – first on Diwali day, the second on December 3, and the third on January 1, coinciding with the completion of the Ramlala temple construction in Ayodhya.While addressing the public, Mr. Shah urged the community’s support, emphasizing the BJP government’s commitment to freeing Chhattisgarh from the Naxal problem.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had previously raised concerns that the Central Modi government intended to privatize the Nagarnar plant. However, Amit Shah reassured the people, promising that this vital plant would remain in the hands of the Bastar residents. Remembrance of martyrs Veer Narayan Singh, Veer Gundadhur, and Praveen Bhanjdev underscored the significance of this announcement. Mr. Shah pledged that the people of Chhattisgarh would celebrate Diwali three times, marking significant milestones in the region’s development and well-being.
The Union Home Minister challenged Bhupesh Baghel’s government regarding the allocation of funds for tribal welfare. He pointed out that the Congress government at the Center had provided only Rs 29 thousand crores over ten years, while Modi’s administration allocated Rs 1 lakh 32 thousand crores for the tribal community.
Additionally, Modi contributed Rs 75 thousand crores from the District Mineral Fund to foster district development. Amit Shah praised Modi’s commitment to eradicating sickle cell anemia among tribal communities by 2047, with an initial allocation of Rs 27 thousand crores to Bastar.Appealing to the general public, Amit Shah advocated for the formation of a BJP government in Chhattisgarh, highlighting the party’s resolve to combat the Naxal issue and safeguard the tribal population. He also criticized Bhupesh Baghel’s administration for its handling of various promises, including the provision of free LPG cylinders and the regularization of teachers, which had not been fulfilled.
Concluding his speech, Amit Shah reiterated the commitment to keep the Nagarnar plant under public ownership, assuring the people of Bastar that the BJP governments at the central and state levels would safeguard their rights and welfare.
