Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2023: Nomination Papers Surge on the Third Day

TFP Bureau, Raipur, Oct 26, 2023: The momentum of Chhattisgarh’s Assembly General Election-2023 continues to build as a total of 100 nomination papers were submitted on the third day for the 70 assembly constituencies of the second phase. Chief Electoral Officer’s Office reported a noteworthy development with six nomination papers filed today in the Raipur Rural Assembly constituency. In total, 113 candidates have successfully submitted 164 nomination papers for the second phase of the Assembly Elections-2023.

The breakdown of nominations filed today for various assembly constituencies is as follows: Mungeli – 5 nominations, Lormi – 4, Beltara – 4, Chandrapur – 4, Khallari – 4, Mahasamund – 4, Raipur Nagar West – 4, Abhanpur – 4, Gunderdehi – 4, Katghora – 4, Bilha – 4, Akaltara – 4, Pamgarh – 4, Arang – 4, Sanjari Balod – 4, Kurud – 4, Dandilohara – 3, Lundra – 3, Ambikapur – 3, Premnagar – 3, Bilaspur – 3, Janjgir-Champa – 3, Sakti – 3, Raipur Nagar South – 3, Vaishalinagar – 3, Ahiwara – 3, Bemetara – 3, Navagarh – 3, Ramanujganj – 3, Sitapur – 3, Kota – 3, Masturi – 3, Jajepur – 3, Bindranavagarh – 3, and Patan – 3. Additionally, 1 nomination paper each was filed in Durg Rural, Durg City, Bhilai Nagar, and Saja assembly constituencies.

As Chhattisgarh gears up for Assembly Elections 2023, a total of 70 assembly constituencies from Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, and Surguja divisions will participate. Candidates have until October 30, 2023, to file their nominations. The scrutiny of nomination papers for the second phase is scheduled for October 31, and candidates can withdraw their names until November 2.

The following assembly constituencies will go to the polls on November 17, 2023, as part of the second phase: Bharatpur-Sonhat, Manendragarh, Baikunthpur, Premnagar, Bhatgaon, Pratappur, Ramanujganj, Samri, Lundra, Ambikapur, Sitapur, Jashpur, Kunkuri, Pathalgaon, Lailunga, Raigarh, Sarangarh, Kharsia, Dharamjaigarh, Rampur, and Korba. The counting of votes for both the first and second phases will take place on December 3, 2023.
