Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2023: 372 Nominations Filed for Second Phase in 70 Constituencies
TFP Bureau, Raipur; Oct 28, 2023: Today marked the fifth day of filing nominations for the upcoming Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2023, witnessing the submission of 372 nomination papers for the 70 assembly constituencies scheduled for the second phase. The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer reported the highest number of 14 nominations filed in the Raipur Nagar South Assembly constituency today, bringing the total count of nominations to 474 by 740 candidates vying for positions in the second phase of the Assembly Elections 2023.
In a breakdown of today’s nominations, 12 were filed in Balodabazar assembly constituency, 10 each in Janjgir-Champa and Bhatapara, and 9 each in Bilha, Kurud, and several other constituencies across the state.
The second phase of the Assembly Elections 2023 covers a total of 70 assembly constituencies across Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, and Surguja divisions. Candidates have the opportunity to file their nominations for this phase until October 30, 2023. Scrutiny of these nominations will occur on October 31, and the final date for withdrawal of candidate names is set for November 2.
On November 17, 2023, the voting process will be conducted for constituencies across various divisions of the state, and the counting of votes for both the first and second phases is scheduled for December 3, 2023. The constituencies cover a broad array of regions, reflecting a significant phase in the democratic process of Chhattisgarh.
