Nominations of 1066 Candidates Valid for Second Phase of Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2023

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Nov 1, 2023: Following the scrutiny of nomination papers for the second phase of the Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2023, a total of 1066 candidates have had their nominations deemed valid for the upcoming polls in 70 assembly constituencies. This comes after 1219 candidates filed their nominations by the deadline on October 30, the last day for nominations.

The second phase of the Assembly Elections 2023 encompasses a total of 70 assembly constituencies, spanning Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, and Surguja divisions. The scrutiny of the nomination papers for this phase occurred on October 31, with candidates having the option to withdraw their nominations up until November 2.

On November 17, 2023, voters will have the opportunity to exercise their franchise for the second phase, with a total of 1 crore 63 lakh 14 thousand 479 eligible voters. This includes 81 lakh 41 thousand 624 male voters, 81 lakh 72 thousand 171 female voters, and 684 voters of the third gender.

The second phase of the Assembly Elections 2023 covers numerous key assembly constituencies across Chhattisgarh, as candidates vie for the opportunity to represent their constituents in the State Assembly.

The electoral process is poised to be a crucial event, with results set to be announced on December 3, 2023, following the completion of both the first and second phases of voting.
