Congress Leader Manish Tiwari Highlights National Security Concerns and Chhattisgarh Development

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Nov 3, 2023: Speaking at a press conference in Rajiv Bhawan, senior Congress leader Manish Tiwari raised significant concerns about the nation’s security and drew attention to the challenges faced by the NDA BJP government. Tiwari criticized the NDA BJP’s emphasis on “muscular nationalism,” expressing that when faced with complex issues, this brand of nationalism seems to be absent.

Tiwari cited the recent case of 8 retired Indian Navy officers in Qatar sentenced to death, highlighting the government’s inaction and lack of diplomatic intervention. This situation, in a small nation like Qatar, challenges the claims of muscular nationalism by the NDA BJP government.

He also pointed to the incursions by China into Indian territories since April 2020, raising concerns about the number of patrolling points inaccessible to the Indian Army in Ladakh.

Connecting these national security concerns to Chhattisgarh’s development, Tiwari emphasized that the state’s progress is contingent upon a favorable security environment. He underscored Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s approach in addressing Naxal issues through a combination of hard and soft government strategies, resulting in a 52% decrease in Naxal incidents over the past 5 years in Chhattisgarh.

Highlighting the transformation from 14 to 3 districts affected by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh, Tiwari urged voters to remember the times of severe Naxal attacks and emphasized the need for Congress governance to sustain peace, communal harmony, and continued development in the state. He emphasized the critical importance of maintaining law and order for the state’s progress, appealing to the electorate to support the Congress government for Chhattisgarh’s peaceful future.
