Sweep Mahila Car Rally: Driving Voter Awareness Led by C.E.O. Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Nov 6, 2023: In an effort to raise voter awareness ahead of the upcoming assembly elections on November 17, the ‘Sweep’ voter awareness program organized a remarkable event in Raipur on Sunday—the Sweep Mahila Car Rally. Chief Electoral Officer of Chhattisgarh, Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale, led the convoy of cars, encouraging and mobilizing participation in the rally.

Enthusiasm at Its Peak

The Sweep car rally attracted considerable enthusiasm among women participants. With unique and creative decorations on their cars, they gathered at the BTI grounds from early morning, adding fervor and color to the event. Family members and friends joined in the rally, extending support and amplifying the call for voter awareness.

Traditional Attire and Vibrancy

Participating women embraced the rally adorned in diverse traditional attires—donning Chhattisgarhi, Maharashtrian, Bengali, Odissi, South Indian, and Gujarati costumes. Amidst the vibrant display, they danced and conducted Zumba, spreading the message of voting through the resonant election song, “Main Bharat Hoon…”.

Spirit and Encouragement

An inspirational sight during the rally was 80-year-old Akhtar Qureshi, who, despite being paralyzed for an extended period, arrived carrying the national flag, signifying his motivation and dedication to urge everyone to cast their votes. His presence and determination received accolades from Mrs. Kangale, who honored him at the Science College grounds, the culmination of the car rally.

Diversity in Participation

The Sweep Mahila Car Rally witnessed the participation of around 200 cars, including vintage models like Rolls Royce, open gypsy, and jeeps, along with e-cars and e-rickshaws. Mrs. Anupama Tiwari was awarded the first prize for exceptional car decoration and message, while e-cars and e-rickshaws received recognition for their significant participation.

Distinguished Rally Attendance

The rally saw the presence of Election Commission of India Observer, Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Mayank Chaturvedi, CEO of District Panchayat Mr. Abinash Mishra, Assistant Inspector General of Police Mr. Sanjay Sharma, among others. The participants included officials from multiple departments, voluntary and social organizations, and the Press Club, all harmoniously urging citizens to cast their votes on November 17.
