Congress Rescued Chhattisgarh from Misdeeds of Modi Government,” Asserts Priyanka Gandhi
TFP Bureau, New Delhi; Nov 7, 2023: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi addressed the public in Balod and Kurud in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, emphasizing the significant role of the Congress government in the state’s development and its people’s well-being. Priyanka Gandhi highlighted the alleged imbalances and mismanagement by the Modi-led government, claiming that the Chhattisgarh Congress government had safeguarded its citizens from such actions.
During the rally, Gandhi asserted that the Modi government is channeling public funds towards big industrialists, while the Congress-led Chhattisgarh administration prioritizes public welfare. She commended the Congress government’s policies, attributing them to the growing respect for Chhattisgarh on the world stage. Gandhi predicted a strong comeback for Congress in Chhattisgarh.
Addressing the multitude, Priyanka Gandhi outlined the commitments of the Congress government in the state, promising to purchase 20 quintal acres of paddy, provide a minimum support price of Rs 3,200 per quintal, waive farmers’ loans, offer free education from Kindergarten to Post Graduation, and upgrade all government schools to Atmanand schools.
Moreover, she assured the public of various financial and welfare benefits, such as a fixed price for Tendu leaves and additional bonuses, financial aid to landless laborers, free electricity up to 200 units, a subsidy for cylinder refills, housing for 17.50 lakh underprivileged families, healthcare benefits, and numerous developmental initiatives to boost employment, industry, and social well-being.
Gandhi pointed out the alleged failures of the BJP government, indicating that Chhattisgarh faced turmoil during their rule. In contrast, she praised the Congress government’s efforts, highlighting the financial inclusion of public money into citizens’ pockets and the state’s economic progress.
She criticized the Modi government’s focus on corporate interests and neglect of the general populace, referencing the alleged sale of public sector companies to industrialists at nominal rates. Gandhi accused the BJP of ignoring the livelihoods of small businesses and common individuals, exacerbating inflation and unemployment in the country.
During her speech, she addressed the government’s priorities, implying a lack of attention to farmers’ welfare and the urgency for an unbiased caste census. Senior leaders, including Chhattisgarh Congress General Secretary Kumari Selja, were among the dignitaries present during Priyanka Gandhi’s address.
