First Phase of Assembly Elections 2023 Witnesses 78% Voter Turnout

TFP Bureau, Raipur, Nov 8, 2023: The first phase of the Assembly Elections 2023 in Chhattisgarh saw an impressive 78% voter turnout across 20 assembly constituencies. The Chief Electoral Officer, Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale, disclosed the final voting figures for each assembly, shedding light on the public participation.
The assembly-wise voting percentages are as follows:

- Kawardha: 81.24%
- Khairagarh: 82.67%
- Dongargarh: 81.93%
- Rajnandgaon: 79.12%
- Dongargaon: 84.1%
- Khujji: 82.43%
- Mohla-Manpur: 79.38%
- Antagarh: 79.79%
- Bhanupratappur: 81%
- Kanker: 81.14%
- Keshkal: 81.89%
- Kondgaon: 82.37%
- Narayanpur: 75.06%
- Bastar: 84.67%
- Jagdalpur: 78.47%
- Chitrakot: 81.76%
- Dantewada: 69.88%
- Bijapur: 48.37%
- Konta: 63.14%
Additionally, the Election Commission of India announced compensation for the employees affected during election duty, following guidelines set by the Commission.
A compensation amount of Rs 30 lakh was approved for the Central Security Force personnel’s death in Naxal violence in Kanker district during the elections. Similarly, Rs 15 lakh compensation was approved for another personnel’s death while on election duty in Dantewada district.
In unfortunate incidents in Kondagaon district, where three election workers suffered accidental deaths, Rs 45 lakh compensation in total, at the rate of Rs 15 lakh per worker, was sanctioned. Additionally, other injured personnel during Naxalite violence on election duty will also receive compensation following the Commission’s rules.
