Election Commission Special Observers and CEO Inspect Raigarh and Mahasamund, Provide Crucial Guidelines for Assembly Election-2023
- Review of Election Preparations Includes Polling Stations, Security Arrangements, and Voter Awareness Programs
TFP Bureau, Raipur; Nov 16, 2023: Special observers appointed by the Election Commission of India, along with Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale, undertook a comprehensive inspection of assembly constituencies in Raigarh and Mahasamund districts ahead of the second phase of voting for the Assembly Election-2023. Special General Observer Shri Dharmendra S. Gangwar, Special Police Observer Mr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Special Expenditure Observer Mr. Rajesh Tuteja, and Mrs. Kangale convened a crucial meeting at the district headquarters, assessing election preparations and offering necessary guidance to officials.
During their visit, the observers held discussions with Collectors, District Election Officers, Superintendents of Police, and Nodal Officers of the SVEEP program. They emphasized the need for basic facilities at all polling stations, comprehensive security arrangements in sensitive areas, and prompt resolution of Model Code of Conduct violations reported through C-VIGIL.
Special Observers directed officials to ensure the availability of basic facilities and comprehensive security arrangements at all polling stations in Raigarh and Mahasamund districts. They also gathered information on the law and order situation, the resolution of Model Code of Conduct violations, and the functioning of teams like FST, VVT, SST, C-Vigil, MCMC, and the control room.
Inspecting polling stations, the observers engaged with Booth Level Officers (BLO) and discussed the distribution of voting slips. The micro observers’ work in providing timely voting information was also assessed during this phase.
Furthermore, the Special Observers and Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale gathered information about voter awareness programs in both districts, urging officials to work diligently toward achieving a 100 percent voting target. Praising the sweep activities in Raigarh and Mahasamund, they highlighted the significance of public awareness in making the democratic festival successful.
Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Kangale appealed to voters, urging them to exercise their right to vote freely, fearlessly, and impartially. Emphasizing the goal of voting without temptation or fear, she reiterated the commitment to ensuring a successful and democratic electoral process.
