Armed Forces Flag Day to Commemorate Bravery and Sacrifice on December 7

The appeal extends to citizens to donate

TFP Bureau, Raipur, Dec 6, 2023: The nation prepares to observe Armed Forces Flag Day on December 7, an annual tribute to the valor, sacrifice, and dedication of the Indian Army and a solemn remembrance of the brave martyrs. Brigadier Vivek Sharma, V. S. M (R), Secretary of Rajya Sainik Board and Director Sainik Welfare, has urged citizens of Chhattisgarh to contribute generously to this noble cause.

The appeal extends to citizens to donate as much as possible for the rehabilitation and welfare schemes benefiting widows of martyred soldiers, ex-servicemen, serving soldiers, and their dependents. The funds raised on Armed Forces Flag Day play a crucial role in supporting injured soldiers’ rehabilitation, providing financial assistance to the families of martyred soldiers, and implementing welfare and rehabilitation schemes for ex-servicemen and their dependents.

This significant day serves as an opportunity for citizens to express gratitude to soldiers serving in challenging areas, honor the families of brave martyrs and ex-servicemen. Donations to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund are a tangible way for citizens to contribute to the well-being of those who have served and sacrificed for the country.

It’s noteworthy that donations made for Armed Forces Flag Day are eligible for income tax exemption under Section 80 of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Contributors can send their donations to ‘Secretary, Amalgamated Special Fund for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of Ex-Servicemen of Chhattisgarh,’ A/c No. – 20246292607, IFSC Code – IDIB000R518. Additionally, donations can be made through cheque, RTGS, draft, or barcode by reaching out to the nearest Sainik Welfare Office. This initiative encourages citizens to stand in solidarity with the armed forces and contribute to the well-being of those who have devoted their lives to the nation.
