TFP Bureau, Raipur; Dec 08, 2023: Four Indian Police Service (IPS) probationary officers from the Chhattisgarh cadre, who recently completed their training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad, actively participated in an induction program focused on road safety and traffic management in the state. The officers, currently undergoing further training at the Subhash Chandra Bose State Police Academy in Chandkhuri, were provided with valuable insights into various aspects of traffic management and road safety.
As part of their induction, the officers received detailed information about the state’s road safety scenario, including insights into the State Control Room/Dial 112, and the Institute of Driving and Traffic Research. A comprehensive briefing was conducted by Shri Sanjay Sharma, Additional Inspector General (AIG) Traffic and Chairman-Inter-Departmental Lead Agency (Road Safety). The officers were informed about crucial aspects such as enforcement measures, public awareness campaigns, and traffic education initiatives.
The session also covered an in-depth analysis of road accidents in the state, focusing on the main causes, ongoing efforts to control accidents, engineering improvements, emergency care protocols, driving simulators, e-track systems, training programs for traffic personnel and drivers, driving licensing procedures, fitness testing, and newly implemented measures. The officers gained a comprehensive understanding of the holistic approach taken to enhance road safety and traffic management in Chhattisgarh.
This initiative underscores the commitment to developing well-informed and proactive law enforcement officers capable of contributing to the improvement of road safety across the state.
