Hailing from Bagiya village near Kansabel in the Kunkuri area, Vishnudev Sai has a remarkable journey rooted in his agricultural background.

Vishnudev Sai – From Farmer to Chief Ministe
Vishnudev Sai, an embodiment of tribal leadership, represents the largest population in Chhattisgarh. A close associate of Raman Singh, Sai initiated his political career as a Panch from Bagiya in 1989, swiftly securing an uncontested election as Sarpanch in 1990. Progressing to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, he served as an MLA from Tapkara between 1990 and 1998. Subsequently, in 1999, Sai became the Member of Parliament from the Raigarh Lok Sabha constituency during the 13th Lok Sabha.
Elevating his political stature, Vishnudev Sai assumed the role of the state president of the BJP in 2006. He returned to the Raigarh Lok Sabha constituency as an MP in the 15th Lok Sabha elections held in 2009. The 16th Lok Sabha elections in 2014 witnessed his re-election as an MP from Raigarh. During this tenure, Sai assumed the responsibilities of Union Minister of State, overseeing the Ministry of Steel Mines, Labor, and Employment from May 27, 2014, to 2019.
His unwavering commitment and leadership skills garnered him positions as a National Working Committee member and special invitee in December 2022. Further strengthening his role in the party, Vishnudev Sai was appointed to the National Working Committee on July 8, 2023. Prior to this milestone, he served as the state president of the BJP in 2020. Known for his close association with the Sangh, Sai’s extensive political background and strong profile have catapulted him to the esteemed position of Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister.
