TFP Bureau, Bhopal; Dec 11, 2023: In a crucial development, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced Mohan Yadav as the next Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. The decision was reached during the legislature party meeting held in Bhopal on Monday, bringing an end to the suspense surrounding the leadership in the state.
Party-appointed observers, Manohar Lal Khattar, Dr. K Laxman, and Asha Lakra, oversaw the meeting where Mohan Yadav’s name received unanimous approval for the coveted position. The BJP high command had entrusted the observers with the responsibility of selecting the Chief Minister, and the final decision was made during the legislature party meeting.
Mohan Yadav, an MLA from Ujjain South Assembly seat, emerged as the consensus candidate for the Chief Minister’s role. Additionally, there are indications that Madhya Pradesh may have two Deputy Chief Ministers, with Jagdish Deora and Rajesh Shukla being considered for the positions. Jagdish Deora represents Malhargarh, while Rajesh Shukla hails from Bijawar. Furthermore, Narendra Singh Tomar’s name has been proposed for the post of Speaker.

– Mohan Yadav, an alumnus of Madhav Science College, previously served as the Municipal Minister of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in Ujjain.
– His political journey includes being elected as the co-secretary of the student union in 1982.
– Mohan has been a member of the State Executive of BJP, part of the Central Committee of Simhastha Madhya Pradesh, head of Madhya Pradesh Development Authority, and a member of the Advisory Committee in Western Railway Board.
– Having won elections in 2013, 2018, and now in 2023 from Ujjain South Assembly seat, Mohan Yadav brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
The BJP secured a significant victory in the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections held on November 17, winning 163 out of 230 seats. The suspense over the Chief Minister’s face intensified after the results, with various contenders speculated. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who had been actively engaging with the public post-election, expressed his willingness to abide by the party’s decision.
