TFP Bureau Report Raipur, Dec 12, 2023: As Chief Minister-designate Vishnudev Sai prepares to lead Chhattisgarh into a new era, the state eagerly awaits the fulfillment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to its development. With the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for December 13, Chhattisgarh’s political landscape is set for a transformation under tribal leadership.
Prime Minister Modi, emphasizing the significance of addressing the needs of the youth, farmers, poor, and women, has consistently advocated for the development of these pivotal sections of society. Chhattisgarh, known as the ‘paddy bowl,’ holds a crucial role in the country’s agrarian landscape, and its development has been a priority since the state’s creation by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
In the last decade, PM Modi has laid a robust foundation for Chhattisgarh’s development through various central government schemes. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana brought concrete initiatives for housing the poor, while the Ujjwala scheme freed mothers and sisters from the shackles of smoke. The Saubhagya Yojana extended electricity to even the remotest villages, ending years of darkness.
During the 15-year tenure of former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, significant progress in infrastructure led to rapid increases in per capita income and economic wealth. Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to beautifying Chhattisgarh echoes his vision for inclusive development across all sections of society.
The primary guarantee extends to women, promising Rs 12,000 annually under the ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana.’ This initiative aims to empower women across various aspects of life, providing financial support for essential tasks. Additionally, a subsidy of Rs 500 on domestic cylinders has been ensured, contributing to the balanced household budgets of Chhattisgarh’s women.
For farmers in the paddy bowl, Modi guarantees the purchase of 21 quintals per acre of paddy, along with direct purchase and payment at Rs 3100 per quintal. The Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Agricultural Laborers Welfare Scheme promises financial assistance of Rs 10,000 for landless agricultural laborers.
Recognizing the imperative for employment opportunities for the youth, a phased appointment target of one lakh posts has been set. The ‘Tunhar Duar’ scheme aims to provide employment at the Panchayat level, benefiting 1.5 lakh youth. Industrial infrastructure development is underway, supported by central schemes like Bharatmala Yojana and freight corridors.
Chhattisgarh’s central location has prompted plans for an innovation hub in Raipur, fostering startups and providing opportunities for young entrepreneurs. A 50 percent subsidy for new industries is part of this initiative.
Modi’s commitment extends beyond employment and infrastructure. Transparency in examinations, improved health facilities with free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh, the opening of 500 new Jan Aushadhi centers, and the establishment of SIMS in every division are part of the guaranteed developments.
For farmers, provisions like incentive bonuses for tendu leaf collectors, the Charan Paduka Scheme for forest produce collectors, and a direct impact on the market are anticipated. The allocation of funds for a Rs 18 lakh Prime Minister House for the poor has been guaranteed in the first cabinet meeting.
As Chhattisgarh awaits the new sun of development, the meticulously planned schemes promise progress for all sections of society, steering the state toward a brighter future.
