Good Governance Day to Mark Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Birth Anniversary

The State Government has issued directives to conduct a cleanliness campaign in villages and gram panchayats, starting on December 25, lasting for a week

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Dec 19, 2023: In commemoration of the birth anniversary of the late former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Good Governance Day will be celebrated on December 25 across all districts and gram panchayats in the state. The State Government has issued directives to conduct a cleanliness campaign in villages and gram panchayats, starting on December 25, lasting for a week.

Preparations for Good Governance Day include the cleaning and necessary repairs of the Atal Pillar, constructed in honor of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, prior to the commemorative day. The program on December 25, 2023, will kick off at Atal Chowk at 10 am, graced by the dignified presence of elected public representatives and common citizens. The event will commence with the garlanding of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s photograph, lighting the lamp, and a collective pledge to establish good governance in villages and gram panchayats.

Additional Chief Secretary of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Shri Subrata Sahu, has provided guidelines to all collectors and chief executive officers across the state for the organization of Good Governance Day. He emphasized the immediate issuance of necessary instructions to districts and gram panchayats, ensuring comprehensive preparations for the event. Additionally, collectors are required to submit photographs and observation reports of the organized programs to the Director, Panchayat Directorate, Chhattisgarh, Naya Raipur.
