Good Governance Day to Mark Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Birth Anniversary on December 25

Starting December 25, a week-long cleanliness campaign will unfold across urban bodies, reinforcing the commitment to a clean and well-maintained environment

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Dec 23, 2023: In commemoration of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, observed as ‘Good Governance Day,’ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has directed the payment of the outstanding paddy bonus amounting to Rs 3716 crore to farmers for the Kharif marketing years 2014-15 and 2015-16. This move aligns with the commitment made by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, demonstrating the government’s dedication to supporting farmers.

The celebration of Good Governance Day will commence at 10 am at Atal Chowk in urban bodies, where elected public representatives and citizens will gather to take a solemn pledge to ‘establish good governance.’ This ceremony will include garlanding the photograph of the revered Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and lighting a lamp. To ensure a fitting environment, the state government has instructed the cleaning and necessary repairs of the existing Atal Pillar in urban bodies before December 25.

As part of the Good Governance Day celebrations, Atal Sandhya events will be organized in all urban bodies across the state. These events will feature a poet’s conference, poetry readings of Atal ji’s works, an Atal thought seminar, an essay competition, and an exhibition showcasing the life, personality, and impactful work of the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The events aim to honor Atal ji’s legacy and promote the values of good governance among the citizens of Chhattisgarh.
