Chhattisgarh Farmers Rejoice as New Government Clears Long-Pending Paddy Bonus

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Dec 28, 2023: In a surprising turn of events, farmers across Chhattisgarh are celebrating the release of the pending bonus for two years of paddy, just days after the formation of the new government in the state. The unexpected financial boost is prompting farmers to plan investments in various crucial areas, from providing higher education to their children to advancing agricultural practices.

One such beneficiary, Shri Lambodar Patel, a seasoned farmer from Binjhkot village in Korba district, expressed his joy at receiving an outstanding amount of Rs 5,81,400 as the long-awaited bonus. The swift transfer of the bonus to his account left him overwhelmed, and he took the opportunity to thank Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for this farmer-friendly decision. Shri Patel, heading a joint family of 13 members, including grandchildren aspiring for medical and engineering exams, intends to utilize the bonus for their higher education and to enhance farming practices.

During the Good Governance Day program, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, as part of ‘Modi ki Guarantee,’ distributed pending paddy bonuses for the Kharif marketing years 2014-15 and 2015, totaling Rs 3,716 crore, benefiting 11,76,815 farmers. The seamless transfer through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) has left farmers excited and expressing gratitude to the government for the unexpected financial relief.

Similarly, Shri Varun Singh, a farmer from Chhuri, received Rs 3,69,600 as a paddy bonus on Good Governance Day. Expressing his happiness, Shri Singh credited the state government for making the distribution happen. He plans to use the bonus to acquire essential resources for boosting crop production, such as improved fertilizers and seeds. Shri Singh extended his gratitude to the government for providing much-needed relief to the farming community.
