Forest Minister Urges Swift Implementation of Schemes for Forest Dwellers

He emphasized the need for a 100-day action plan to expedite the distribution of forest rights leases, promote eco-tourism, conserve Devguri, execute Mission-B, and address human-elephant conflicts.

TFP Bureau, Raipur; January 2, 2024: Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap has directed officials to launch a special campaign ensuring swift implementation of Forest Department schemes for the benefit of forest dwellers. In a meeting held at Aranya Bhawan in Nava Raipur, he emphasized the need for a 100-day action plan to expedite the distribution of forest rights leases, promote eco-tourism, conserve Devguri, execute Mission-B, and address human-elephant conflicts.

Minister Shri Kashyap underscored the innocence of forest dwellers and urged officials to approach matters related to them with sensitivity, resolving their problems appropriately. He stressed the importance of ensuring eligible individuals receive the benefits of departmental schemes, emphasizing the completion of all tasks with uncompromising quality.

Recognizing forest produce as a crucial aspect of forest dwellers’ lives, Minister Shri Kashyap insisted on securing fair prices for the forest produce collected by them. He called on everyone to work collectively for the welfare of forest dwellers, enabling them to access the benefits of various schemes.

During the meeting, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap unveiled the annual calendar of the Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association. Officials from the Forest Department, including Additional Chief Secretary Forest Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Chief of Forest Force Shri V. Srinivas Rao, Principal Chief Conservator Wildlife Shri Sudhir Agarwal, General Manager Forest Development Corporation Shri Tapesh Jha, Managing Director Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association Shri Anil Rai, and Secretary Forest Shri Anil Sahu, provided detailed updates on the progress of departmental schemes.
