Minister Ramvichar Netam Urges Unique Development Initiatives for Chhattisgarh’s Marginalized Communities

TFP Bureau, Raipur; January 4, 2024: Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, overseeing Tribal, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and Minority Affairs, convened a meeting of senior officials at the National Tribal Research Institute Hall in Atal Nagar, Nava Raipur, to assess the progress of departmental schemes. During the meeting, Minister Netam emphasized the need for initiatives that would distinguish Chhattisgarh on a national scale, particularly in the development of primitive castes, scheduled castes, backward classes, and minority communities.

He advocated creating an educational environment infused with cleanliness and announced plans to install gyms in ashram hostels for the holistic well-being of students. Minister Netam urged officials to foster sports talent and develop a sense of social, economic, and cultural empowerment among marginalized groups.

In addition to these efforts, the Minister discussed plans for another youth hostel in Delhi to accommodate students preparing for competitive examinations. He also announced the establishment of a Competitive Examination Training Center in Bilaspur.

Secretary Mr. DD Singh, Commissioner Mrs. Shammi Abidi, and other departmental officials attended the meeting. Minister Netam concluded the session by expressing his commitment to resolving departmental challenges and ensuring ample funds to achieve the department’s objectives. He emphasized the state government’s dedication to advancing the well-being and future prospects of students in ashram hostels and underscored the importance of concrete action plans for the development of protected tribes.

During the meeting, Minister Netam also addressed concerns related to forest rights papers in Bastar and Surguja divisions and stressed the need for effective dissemination of information about rules and procedures at various administrative levels. The Minister’s visit included an inspection of the Research Center and Library, where he praised the collection of books and artifacts preserving the cultural heritage of primitive castes.
