TFP Bureau, Korba; January 5, 2023: Bharat Aluminum Company Limited (BALCO), a subsidiary of Vedanta Group, in collaboration with Age India, organized a Mega Health Camp under its Arogya project, benefiting the residents of Gahaniya village. This health initiative aimed to provide essential health services to the community, particularly focusing on the tribal population. The camp, successfully completed, served approximately 157 citizens.
Specialized services such as Dental, Skin, Orthopedic, Gynecology, ENT, Medicine, General Practitioner, and diagnostic tests for Diabetes and Blood Pressure were provided at the mega health camp. Physiotherapy services, utilizing advanced electrotherapy technology, were extended to the elderly. The camp facilitated 56 elderly individuals and women with OPD services, offered counseling to 13 pregnant women, and provided physiotherapy to 7 individuals. Additionally, 39 hemoglobin tests, 27 diabetes checks, and 19 skin checkups were conducted. The Gynecologist consulted with 34 women. The multi-specialty health camp reflects BALCO’s commitment to steering the community towards better health and a brighter future.
Beyond general health checkups and counseling, the camp also emphasized creating awareness about Ayushman card registration. Residents from seven villages, including Khetar, Futamuda, Keshalpur, Bela Panchayat, and Gahnia, actively participated in the health camp, ensuring their essential medical needs were met. BALCO, as part of its Community Development Programme, has organized approximately six free health camps this year.

The Gahaniya Mega Health Camp, a result of collective efforts, signifies positive change in health for the community.
Jaya Rathiya, Sarpanch of Bela Gram Panchayat, appreciated the camp’s impact, noting that everyone, especially children, benefited from the mega health camp. The camp played a crucial role in spreading information and awareness about healthcare. Expressing gratitude, Rathiya hoped for the continuation of such initiatives in the future.
