Bijapur Sports Academy Football Trio to Shine at 6th Khelo India Youth Games 2023

Four players from Bijapur Sports Academy participated in this championship, contributing to Chhattisgarh’s qualification for the Khelo India Youth Games 2023

TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 12, 2024: The upcoming 6th Khelo India Youth Games 2023, scheduled to be held in Tamil Nadu from January 19 to January 31, 2024, will witness the representation of Chhattisgarh’s women’s football team by three talented players from Bijapur Sports Academy (BSA). Janaki Korsa, Bindu Telam, and Jyoti Kudiam have earned the privilege to showcase their skills at the prestigious sporting event.

The achievement of these BSA football players has garnered recognition and praise, with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai expressing his congratulations and best wishes to the selected athletes. Shri Sai acknowledged the pride brought to Chhattisgarh through the selection of Janaki Korsa, Bindu Telam, and Jyoti Kudiam, emphasizing the significance of their representation at the Khelo India Youth Games.

In the Hero Junior Girls Football Championship held in Guwahati, Assam, in 2023, the Chhattisgarh women’s team, led by Jyoti Yadav, Football National Coach of BSA, reached the quarterfinals. Four players from Bijapur Sports Academy participated in this championship, contributing to Chhattisgarh’s qualification for the Khelo India Youth Games 2023. The Chhattisgarh team is set to depart from Raipur on January 17, 2024, to participate in the prestigious event.

Bijapur Sports Academy’s football players have previously showcased their skills in the Khelo India Tribal National Championship in Bhubaneswar, Orissa, where they secured a gold medal by defeating formidable opponents like Jharkhand.

Union Sports and Information Broadcasting Minister Shri Anurag Thakur commended the talent emerging from Bijapur Sports Academy, highlighting the institution’s role in nurturing players from vulnerable areas. Jyoti Yadav, an NIS coach, provides high-level training to the football players, contributing to their success. District Collector Mr. Anurag Pandey, Deputy Collector Shri Dilip Uike, and District Sports Officer extended their congratulations to the players, expressing hope for outstanding performances and bright futures in the upcoming matches.
