TFP Bureau, Ambikapur; January 20, 2024: Parsa East Kete Bassen (PEKB) opencast mine, under the ownership of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) and located in the Udaipur block, has emerged triumphant in the Annual Safety Fortnight-2023 competition. This significant achievement took place among six coal mines, securing three prestigious awards. The mine, operated by Adani Enterprises Limited in collaboration with Parsa Kete Collieries Limited (a joint venture of Adani Enterprises Limited & RRVUNL), achieved this feat in the mega mines category, Group-F. The award ceremony held on January 16, 2024, in Korba, Chhattisgarh, featured Mr. Prabhat Singh, Director General of Mine Safety, Directorate General of Mine Safety, Dhanbad, as the chief guest, along with Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra, Chairman, CMD, South Eastern Coalfields Limited.
Outstanding Recognitions: A Triple Win for PEKB Mine
Parsa Kete Collieries Limited, the operating company, secured the first prize for PEKB Mine in the survey category. Additionally, the company clinched the second prize in the Safety Management Plan and Engineering and Excavation category. The presence of esteemed representatives from RRVUNL, including Mr. Ashok Prasad (Superintendent Engineer), Mr. Manoj Kumar Shahi (Chief of Cluster, AEL, NR, Surguja), Mr. Ram Dwivedi (Cluster Head HR), Mr. Satish Kumar Kataria (Mine Manager), added to the significance of the award ceremony.

PEKB mine has consistently received acclaim for its operations, earning a five-star standard from the Coal Ministry of the Central Government for three consecutive years. The Directorate General of Mine Safety has consistently praised the mine’s safe operation. In the previous year, the mine received four awards from the Directorate General. The recent recognition at the Annual Safety Fortnight-2023 reflects PEKB Mine’s proactive approach to safety initiatives and innovation. It remains steadfast in upholding the highest safety standards, making significant contributions to the overall safety ethos of the mining industry.
