TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 20, 2024: In celebration of the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the Chhattisgarh Government has announced a half-day public holiday on January 22. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai made this announcement during a late Thursday press briefing.
Highlighting the profound connection between Lord Shri Ram and Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister referred to the state as the maternal home of Lord Ram. He emphasized, “Lord Shri Ram, born in Ayodhya, had his mother, Mata Kaushalya, born in Chhattisgarh, making him the ‘bhancha’ (nephew) of the state. During his 14-year exile, Lord Shri Ram spent a significant 10 years in the forests of Chhattisgarh, forging a deep connection with its people.”
Expressing the collective joy of Chhattisgarh over the consecration of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, Shri Sai declared the half-day holiday until 2:30 pm on January 22. This decision allows the people of Chhattisgarh to participate in the ‘Pran Pratistha’ ceremony of Ramlala. Shri Sai also highlighted the festive atmosphere in the state, with adorned temples and various religious programs underway to mark this auspicious event.
Shri Ramlala Pran Pratistha: Closure of Slaughter Houses and Meat Shops
In addition to the half-day holiday, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has decided to keep slaughterhouses and meat-selling shops closed in Chhattisgarh on January 22 during the Shri Ramlala Pran Pratishtha. This decision aims to respect public sentiments, and an official order to this effect has been issued by the Urban Administration Department following the Chief Minister’s directives.
