Key Decisions Taken in Chhattisgarh Cabinet Meeting

Chhattisgarh government to address key issues and enhance the efficiency of administrative processes

TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 24, 2024:  The Chhattisgarh Cabinet convened today at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, chaired by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, where several significant decisions were reached.

1. Approval of Governor’s Address Draft: The Cabinet greenlit the draft of the Honourable Governor’s address for the second session of the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Chhattisgarh scheduled for February-March 2024.

2. Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill-2024:  Approval was granted for the draft of the Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill-2024, slated to be presented in the Assembly for the third supplementary budget estimate for the fiscal year 2023-2024.

3. Budget Estimate 2024-25: The Cabinet endorsed the draft of the Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill-2024, which will be presented in the Assembly for the budget estimate year 2024-25.

4. Chhattisgarh Excise Policy 2024-25: The Cabinet gave the nod to the Chhattisgarh Excise Policy for the financial year 2024-25, stipulating that no new liquor shops would be opened under this policy.

5. Chhattisgarh Civil Court (Amendment) Bill-2024: The Cabinet approved the draft of the Chhattisgarh Civil Court (Amendment) Bill-2024. The amendment includes changes such as substituting ‘District Judge’ with ‘Principal District Judge’ and ‘Additional District Judge’ with ‘District Judge.’ Furthermore, it replaces ‘Civil Judge Class -I’ with ‘Civil Judge Senior Class,’ ‘Civil Judge Class-II’ with ‘Civil Judge Junior Class,’ and ‘District Court’ with ‘Principal District Court.’

6. Creation of Joint Registrar (M) Posts: A significant decision involved the creation of five posts of Joint Registrar (M) in the Honourable High Court Bilaspur. These positions will be funded from the contingency fund.

These decisions mark significant steps in governance and legislative improvements, demonstrating the commitment of the Chhattisgarh government to address key issues and enhance the efficiency of administrative processes.
