Food Department Facilitates Effortless Renewal Process through Online Platform

TFP Raipur, January 26, 2024: The Food Department’s initiative to digitize the renewal process of 77 lakh ration cards in Chhattisgarh has witnessed a robust start, with an overwhelming response from the beneficiaries. Leveraging the convenience of the online facility provided by the Food Department, one lakh 41 thousand 547 ration card holders initiated the renewal process on the first day.

Streamlined Renewal Process

The renewal process, which began today, aims to cover all existing 77 lakh ration cards under the public distribution system in Chhattisgarh. The Food Department has streamlined the renewal procedure by introducing an online platform. On the inaugural day, a significant number of applicants, totaling one lakh 41 thousand 547, actively participated in the renewal process. Among them, one lakh 33 thousand 640 individuals opted for online renewal through the mobile app, while 7 thousand 907 beneficiaries utilized the online renewal option facilitated by the fair price shop operator.

Embracing Digital Convenience

Beneficiaries across Chhattisgarh are seizing the digital convenience offered by the Food Department for the renewal of their ration cards. Through the dedicated mobile app, people are efficiently submitting renewal applications from the comfort of their homes. Even in Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai’s hometown of Bagiya, residents are energetically renewing their ration cards.

Positive Responses from Beneficiaries

Mrs. Saraswati Bai from Bagiya enthusiastically applied for the renewal of her priority category ration card, showcasing the widespread participation in the initiative. The renewal period extends from January 25 to February 15, 2024, providing beneficiaries with ample time to engage in the online renewal process via the mobile app or through the fair price shop operator.

Triveni Sahu, a ration card holder from the village of Hirapur in Balod district, highlighted the simplicity of the online application process. Applauding the government’s efforts, Sahu expressed that renewing a ration card is now within everyone’s reach, with the convenience of applying through the mobile app from the comfort of one’s home. Similarly, Tikeshwar, son of ration card holder Suruchi from Jhalmala village, shared his seamless experience of applying for online renewal for a general ration card.

The Chhattisgarh government’s commitment to simplifying processes through online facilities has received positive responses from beneficiaries like Sujata Rao from Telisemra village in Jagdalpur district, who successfully completed the renewal of her ration card.
