TFP Bureau, Balconagar; January 27, 2024: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), a prominent aluminium producer in India and a subsidiary of Vedanta Aluminium, orchestrated a spectacular celebration in honor of India’s 75th Republic Day at the BALCO stadium in Korba, Chhattisgarh. With a turnout of over 5000 participants, the event radiated unity, pride, and patriotism through captivating demonstrations and vibrant performances.
The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by Mr. Rajesh Kumar, CEO and Director of BALCO, accompanied by the resonant strains of the national anthem. Paying homage to the guard of honor and acknowledging the security team’s spirited march past, Mr. Kumar set the tone for a day filled with patriotic fervor.
The security teams of BALCO showcased their capabilities through an engaging demonstration, providing insight into their vital role in ensuring plant safety and security. Tri-colored balloons ascended into the sky, symbolizing the enduring principles of peace and freedom that India upholds.
A cultural extravaganza unfolded with performances by over 1700 students from 15 schools in BALCO’s vicinity, celebrating the nation’s rich cultural diversity through dance and cultural presentations.
In a collaborative effort with local communities, BALCO presented meticulously designed tableaux highlighting various aspects of its operations, including potlines, power operations, cast houses, logistics, and CSR functions. These floats paraded, not only depicting the diverse facets of BALCO’s operations but also signifying its commitment to community empowerment.
Mr. Kumar emphasized BALCO’s dedication to India’s industrial progress, integrating environmental stewardship and community development into its journey of shared growth. He highlighted the importance of strong relationships with communities and partners, envisioning India as a global manufacturing powerhouse.
The festivities culminated with the felicitation of Class 10th and 12th exam toppers from participating schools, along with awards for outstanding parade presentations and tableaux. The Dog Squad members of BALCO received special recognition for their dynamic security protocol demonstration, underscoring their vital role in ensuring a secure environment.
Post the Republic Day celebration, Mr. Kumar visited the BALCO Hospital in Korba, distributing nutritious fruits among patients. This gesture reflected BALCO’s commitment to community welfare, emphasizing the pivotal role of health in the nation’s development.
