TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 29, 2024: In a demonstration of solidarity with police personnel and their families, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma visited the residence of Constable Shri Naresh Markam at Police Housing Colony in Amlidih, Raipur on Sunday.
During the visit, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma met with constable Shri Naresh Markam and his family, expressing genuine interest in their well-being. The constable’s family was elated to receive the Deputy Chief Minister, who shared a warm moment over tea with them. Constable Naresh, currently posted at Purani Basti police station, recounted the joyous surprise of the Home Minister’s visit, which brought happiness not only to his family but also to the entire colony.
Presenting a shawl, quince, sweets, and fruits, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma extended tokens of appreciation to constable Naresh’s family. Hailing from Dhudhitola village in Mohla-Manpur district, Constable Naresh highlighted that he was on VIP security duty when he received news of the Home Minister’s impending visit to his residence.
Addressing the broader issues faced by police families, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma acknowledged the prevalence of societal challenges like drugs and alcohol. He expressed a sense of belonging after interacting with the police families and emphasized the need to understand and address their concerns.
The residents of Amlidih Colony took the opportunity to discuss various issues with the Home Minister, including the necessity for proper street lighting, sports grounds, regular canteen operations, and other allowances. Specifically, they raised concerns about transportation for over 100 children attending Kendriya Vidyalaya and the monthly maintenance fee imposed on families.
Responding to the residents, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma assured them that their concerns would be considered and addressed appropriately. He conveyed a familial sentiment, stating, “Here among all of you, I feel as if I have come to my home. I have only one son; I will bring him sometime, there are so many children here, he will also play with everyone.” The visit aimed to establish a direct connection with the challenges faced by police personnel and their families, fostering a collaborative approach to address these concerns.
